In November of 1980, a Board of Directors was organized to represent the eight seniors organizations that existed at that time. These eight organizations were each operating independently from various facilities in Camrose.
The mission of that organizing Board was to build and operate a multi-use facility within the City of Camrose for use by Camrose and District seniors. It was accomplished with the generous help of the Federal, Provincial, County and City governments.
Construction began in September of 1983 and the building was officially opened on November 19, 1984.
Since that time, the Society has provided a variety of programs and services to the membership and others in our community.

Membership in the Society is open to everyone who is at least 50 years of age. The annual membership fee is just $15.00 per person and is renewable each January.
Membership includes voting privileges at the Society’s Annual General Meeting. There are approximately 300 members of the Society at the present time.

There are many different activities going on year round at the Mirror Lake Centre. Many of these activities are organized into clubs themselves and those that are organized are represented at the Board. The Board meets approximately 11 times per year and brings ideas, suggestions and concerns about the facility, the programs or the activities to monthly meetings for their consideration.
Please see the Clubs and Activities page for more information concerning the clubs and activities available at the Centre. If you wish to contact an individual Club or Activity please email them at camsrsoc@cable-lynx.net.
